At 85 feet, Matador Whitsunday is the largest IOR yacht ever built. Matador competed in 52 races, 8 regattas and 2 World Maxi Championships undefeated.

Constructed from carbon fiber at a total cost exceeding USD$20 million, Matador is truly an awesome sailing machine. In 1997 Matador

retired from racing and started her new life if the Whitsundays, guests now have the opportunity to enjoy thoroughbred sailing at its best.

Matador departs three times a week for a two day two night racing maxi sail and dive adventures and accommodates up to 33 guests with 4 crew in shared open plan accommodation. Guests on Matador also have the option to SCUBA dive as well as snorkelling while visiting some of the best fringing reefs the Whitsundays has to offer, and don't forget you will also visit the pure white silica sands of Whitehaven Beach .

To ensure the ongoing care and management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park there is a fee known as the Environmental Management Charge (or EMC) levied by Queensland Parks & Wildlife on all passengers, on all boats that enter the park, our Matador price includes E.M.C.

While the risk of a jellyfish sting is minimal and their presence seasonal, it is advisable that visitors entering the water use a stinger suit if possible. This is usually a stocking like body suit that offers protection from contact with a jellyfish while still allowing the enjoyment of getting wet, our Matador Whitsunday price includes stinger suits.
