British Defender - 2 day 2 night Maxi Sailing - It doesn't get any better

British Defender is a high tech Whitbread around The World Racing Maxi that was raced by the British Armed Services during the 1989/90 Around the World Race.

It is an 83ft Maxi Yacht with a Sloop design. Built of Carbon Fibre, features include a huge 115ft mast, race grinding winch towers and over 6ft of headroom below deck. Since this maxi was converted into a Whitsunday Charter Maxi yacht in 2001, she runs 2 day 2 night trips departing Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Taking up to 26 guests, this trip is suited to people who want a Maxi-Racing Adventure Cruise with the option to chill out.

Not only will you have the adventure of a life time, you will visit Whitehaven Beachand a number of fringing reef for snorlemming and swimming.

*To ensure the ongoing care and management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park there is a fee known as the Environmental Management Charge (or EMC) levied by Queensland Parks & Wildlife on all passengers, on all boats that enter the park. The cost varies depending on the vessel.

** While the risk of a jellyfish sting is minimal and their presence seasonal, it is advisable that visitors entering the water use a stinger suit if possible. This is usually a stocking like body suit that offers protection from contact with a jellyfish while still allowing the enjoyment of getting wet.

These additional charges are payable when checking in or when boarding your vessel.
