British Defender is a high tech whitbread around the world racing maxi that was raced by the British armed services during the 1989/90 around the world race.
British Defender is an 83ft Maxi Yacht with a sloop design. Built of carbon fibre and with features that include a huge 115ft mast, race grinding winch towers and over 6ft of headroom below deck. Since British Defender was converted into a Whitsunday charter maxi yacht in 2001, she has run 2 day 2 night trips departing Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Taking up to 26 guests, this trip is suited to people who want a Maxi-Racing Adventure Cruise with the option to chill out.

Not only will you have the adventure of a life time, you will visit Whitehaven Beach and a number of fringing reef for snorkelling and swimming.

To ensure the ongoing care and management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park there is a fee known as the Environmental Management Charge (or EMC) levied by Queensland Parks & Wildlife on all passengers, on all boats that enter the park, our British Defender price includes E.M.C.

While the risk of a jellyfish sting is minimal and their presence seasonal, it is advisable that visitors entering the water use a stinger suit if possible. This is usually a stocking like body suit that offers protection from contact with a jellyfish while still allowing the enjoyment of getting wet, our British Defender Whitsunday price includes stinger suits.
