| Ise Pearl - 3 days / 3 nights |
|
Ise Pearl, named after the Japanese pearling town "Ise" famous for the cultured pearl industry, is a gaff rigged topsail ketch, built in 1956 by Charlie Crowley to a design of Norman Wright in Brisbane. She was worked and owned by Japanese pearlers for 38 years and had a hard working life pearling in the Torres Straight before being discovered in poor condition by Warren 'Sparrow' Burlon.
The skipper 'Sparrow' has spent most of his life at sea and is a fully qualified traditional wooden boat builder. Ise Pearl was restored to near perfection, regardless of time, money or effort as the skipper's own boat and home. Everything on Ise Pearl was skillfully crafted to the classic beauty of a bygone era in Australian maritime history. She exudes the feeling of strength, nostalgia and romance." Ise" still to this day has pearl shells wedged between some of her timbers.

To ensure the ongoing care and management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park there is a fee known as the Environmental Management Charge (or EMC) levied by Queensland Parks & Wildlife on all passengers, on all boats that enter the park. The cost varies depending on the vessel.
While the risk of a jellyfish sting is minimal and their presence seasonal, it is advisable that visitors entering the water use a stinger suit if possible. This is usually a stocking like body suit that offers protection from contact with a jellyfish while still allowing the enjoyment of getting wet.
These additional charges are payable when checking in or when boarding your vessel.
