| New Horizon - CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE |
|
New Horizon offers the experience of big boat sailing at a budget price. Touring the Whitsundays for 2 nights over 3 days, diving and sailing amongst the coral reefs is an experience not to be missed.
New Horizon is a lovely wooden Tallship. She is one of the last solid timber boats, built in Tasmania with famous Tasmanian hard wood, which makes her a strong, seaworthy boat. New Horizon has beautiful features like a human size figurehead. She is very spacious and has a lovely wooden galley with a big half-round table for entertainment.
The boat is newly re-constructed and only started taking its first passengers in June 2001. This trip guarantees classical sailing in style and offers as well excellent snorkelling and diving.

To ensure the ongoing care and management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park there is fee known as the Environmental Management Charge (or EMC) levied by Queensland Parks & Wildlife on all passengers, on all boats that enter the park. The cost varies depending on the vessel.
While the risk of a jellyfish sting is minimal and their presence seasonal, it is advisable that visitors entering the water use a stinger suit if possible. This is usually a stocking like body suit that offers protection from contact with a jellyfish while still allowing the enjoyment of getting wet.
These additional charges are payable when checking in or when boarding your vessel. |
